I usually try to plan a day away, a day outside to explore, for Melody to get a little bit of fresh air before we are cooped for another week. But this time was a little special, I wanted to make sure she would get an amazing birthday celebration, since we will be in the hospital for her actual birthday. I ended up asking if she would want to go out and explore San Diego, and she said yes right away! So first stop, her favorite poke bowl place by her work for lunch. Next up, the San Diego Zoo, Safari Park.
I ended up getting Melody a nice, light, telephoto lens so she could take pictures alongside me. We got the year old, 300mm PF, which is nice and light. I’ve been taking her out birding around Long Beach, and she has fallen more in love with the art of birding. So going to the zoo was a welcome extension, to hone our skills as we prepare for a Costa Rica trip in the fall!
