on our last day in oregon, my brother took marisa, maggie, and me out to the columbia river gorge. the pacific northwest is definitely a scene change from the dry, chaparral southern california that i live in. we drove along the historic columbia river highway and stopped at all the various stops along the way. there were around five or six different waterfalls. the most impressive was multnomah falls.
chanticleer point gives a great view of the river. if you look just to the right of the river you can see the vista house on the top of the cliff.

wahkeena falls is difficult to photograph, but it was a series of mini waterfalls along a hillside. you sort of have to tilt your head around to see all the little waterfalls since it is hidden by the forest of trees.
the biggest of all the waterfalls, multnomah falls. i’m glad we got to see multnomah falls in the fall because the trees were so pretty!
herman, the 60 year old, 9 foot long sturgeon at the sturgeon farm we visited. he had whiskers and was sort of cute 🙂
kennedy school, a refurbished school turned into a hotel, several bars, a movie theater, and a restaurant. i loved that in the theater they used a chalkboard to show the movie times and hand drew each of the movie posters with chalk.
