i have this lovely jar that i bought last summer at the rose bowl flea market. i love the fact that it is an old jar found by a man who goes bottle scavenging at sites where homes once stood. the man had tons of other cool bottles at his booth like old medicine and perfume bottles. they all came in these peaceful subtle colors that i loved. i picked out the ball jar because i loved the color of the glass and because it was big enough to display as a decoration. based on this ball jar progression chart i’m guessing the jar was produced somewhere between 1933-1940. 🙂
anyway, i decided to take some portraits with it today. self-portraits are so difficult to get perfectly focused. sometimes i enjoy the lack of sharpness for artistic reasons, but i’m struggling to try to find a better way to take self-portraits.
