i’m a fan of handwritten love letters, snail mail, and good old fashioned communication.
with my boyfriend, kelvin all the way across the country, we’ve gotten creative in our forms of communication. although i wouldn’t be able to do without the internet and my cell phone, i enjoy sending the occasional postcard via the US Postal Service. i love (and hate) the unpredictability. sometimes i hope that when it gets to him the edges are a little worn or the envelope is torn, just to show the wear of time and travel. other times i wish i could fit myself in a little envelope and ship myself over to go visit him.
i started a series of postcards in september with maddie and still have a few to go. it’s been fun stretching my creativity, making mementos of our inside jokes. i started snapping a shot of them before i sent them off to atlanta. here’s what i’ve got so far. i’m missing the first of the series because i decided to start capturing them after i sent it.
