view from moro rock at sequoia national park
there is nothing like a beautiful weekend of hiking amongst the largest living trees in the world. i’ll be honest, it was not easy going back to class this morning. i feel like once i got back, i realized how much everything has piled up. i wish there was more time in the day. and possibly another month in the year. right now, time is my worst enemy.
i couldn’t help taking full advantage of the lack of cell phone signal and decided to turned off my phone all weekend, cutting myself off from civilization. to my surprise when i turned back on my phone, i found several messages awaiting me. i couldn’t believe that in the short amount of time that i had been gone (literally two days), wild fires had spread uncontrolled across yorba linda. i haven’t been home since i moved back to school early august, and i can’t help but miss home and my family. i was relieved to hear that my mom and sister were okay despite having to evacuate for the weekend. i can only hope the fires continue to become contained and no more homes get destroyed.
