the happiest place on earth.
i don’t know why i ever got sick of disneyland. it is so much fun. wednesday after work, i went to disneyland with danny. disneyland holds so many memories. i used to go around four times a year. i went so much, i knew all the little quirks in their computer system.
i used to collect their tickets because their fastpass system couldn’t recognize whether the ticket holder had entered the park today or a different day. i could run around with my stack of old tickets to every ride that had a fastpass system and get a fastpass from each one with a different ticket.
i think everyone that has grown up in southern california has favorite disneyland ride. mine are space mountain and astroblasters. if you count california adventure rides, another one of my favorites is california soarin’. i used to wait in two hour lines just to go on these rides. i don’t know if i have the patience to wait that long now.
i wanted so badly to go on the new finding nemo submarine ride, but the line was 120 minutes long. i have never even been on the old submarine ride. i think i’ll wait until the line goes down to at least 70 minutes before i stand in line for it.
the fireworks show was phenomenal. i’ve never seen a better fireworks show. everything was choreographed and timed perfectly to match the music. amazing. the show was almost canceled beforehand because of higher altitude wind conditions. up until the exact starting time of the show, we had no idea whether or not it would still be put on. the show was so worth the wait. i hear the show every night at around 9:30 PM from my house, but standing there in front of the castle watching the fireworks makes the show such a disney experience. the music has all these short clips from the different rides at disneyland. to my surprise, i could recognize all of them and practically sing along. i guess that shows how much i’ve grown up with disneyland in my life.
my boss taught me how to drive stickshift the other day in the parking lot. i think driving stick makes the whole driving experience so much cooler. i want a stickshift sports car so badly. i’m still obsessed with the mazda rx-8. it’s so beautiful.
