i’m on a total mae marathon.
today my dad drove from taipei (the northern part of taiwan) to tainan (the southern part of taiwan) in his company car. the whole drive took about five hours. it’s weird to think that taiwan is smaller than california.
the whole trip down was a giant mae marathon with my ipod. my new favorite song is “awakening.”
when i close my eyes to this paradox place,
i’ll fly away far away from here,
i’ll get away and dream,
dream of you,
when its all said and done,
and the night has come,
i’ll disappear,
take flight on the wind of wishing you where here,
fading light like a star whose life has been gone for years

it’s weird to think that my dad leads this totally seperate life here in taiwan. visiting taiwan gives me only a small sample of what it’s like to live in taiwan. the streets of taipei are so crazy i can’t even imagine trying to learn how to drive here.
there is so much about my dad’s life that i have never really known about or bothered to ask. here i feel like i’m home. but yet i still know so little about taiwan. each day i feel like i’m learning more and more about my dad and what his life is like here in taiwan.
i’m definetly loving it here. (which is good because i’m going to be here for awhile..)
i’ve had a lot of bonding time with my sister, marisa. we could spend hours amusing ourselves with little things. laughing so hard i start to cry. aw. family.
