a french film adventure
i was never really a fan of foreign films because i couldn’t understand what they were saying and staring at the bottom of the screen for subtitles always seemed to distract me from what was actually going on in the movie. and plus, it’s difficult to understand the tone and see who’s talking when all the words are simply typed out on the screen.
but after watching a very long engagement and amelie tonight with sammie, i realized how romantic the french language is. and if those movies were in any other language, they just wouldn’t be the same.
i’ve fallen in love with amelie. it is so good. the way it was filmed, the way the story is told, the characters (especially amelie), the romance. goodness, everything.
the movie was so creatively put together. like one beautiful piece of moving artwork.
a very long engagement was really good too. but the beginning was pretty gory. the way the plot unraveled reminded me of big fish.
i can’t believe that i’ve never watched a foreign film before. it’s like i’ve been limiting myself from so many incredible movies. maybe i should make like an asian and watch crouching tiger, hidden dragon. my family even owns it.
wow. sammie and i are so cool. we got the lilo and stitch best friends bead kit. HAHA. i know, i know. you want a plastic beaded bracelet too.
RAVE// dear friends, i love you.
RANT// um.
