experience the world through art
i went to the LACMA (los angeles county museum of art) today. my mom, sister, and i saw the contemporary art exhibit, the european painting and sculture exhibit, and their special exibit “from renoir to matisse: the eye of duncan phillips.”
wow. i love art. i never thought i could stand staring at art pieces for four hours straight. my shoulders hurt so bad afterwards. it doesn’t even make sense. i wasn’t standing on my shoulders or anything.
i was seriouly drawn to the paintings. it felt like each art piece was a seperate world that i was looking into through the canvas. makes me want to go to a college in los angeles now. there are so many museums in LA. i feel like exploring them. LA is so cool.
it’s amazing how BIG the luncheon of the boating party by pierre-auguste renoir is in real life. i stood there examining it. i felt awed by it. after seeing so many prints, seeing the original was simply amazing.
i tried to look up some of my favorite paintings online, but they just looked so bad compared to the real ones. all discolored. yuck. so i won’t even bother posting them. you’re going to think i’m crazy for falling in love with them since they look so bad online.
but i really loved “library view” by kevin appel, a modern art artist. i couldn’t find it online. i went back to look at it a million times. i want it. haha. i was going to sneak a picture of it with my camera. i’m a rebel.
