i saw a coyote walking down yorba linda blvd.

and i thought it was a stray dog.

i got a free meal at chipotle on tuesday. they had this “just vote dammit” promotion where if you bought a meal on halloween and came back on tuesday, you could get the same thing you got for free. and then, i got a free drink because connie is awesome and told me that if you show them your ID you can get a free drink too. and chipotle is awesome, but even more awesome-r when everything is free.

a band called amber pacific from seatle, washington came to our school to play on friday for beat los al week. they were really good. i think that was the first time i actually went up to the center quad to listen to a band. it was a nice change because some of the bands that normally play at our school really suck.

the beat los al assembly was pretty bad. it was embarrasing. almost everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. the drumline got the loudest cheers though. good job anup!

football lost to los al. not a real suprise though i guess. the coach gave a really motivational speech at the assembly and the gym was so pumped up. so much led up to this week’s football game, and i can’t deny that i wasn’t a little disappointed.

i wish our band director could give us motivational speeches like that before each competition instead of the typical “if you suck now, you are going to suck tomorrow” and “wow this sounds really bad” and “SHUT UP!” but i guess james took care of that this saturday with his tiny tim speech. that was so funny.

band really fell apart at the game. we did an amazing show, but after 3rd quarter, everything turned chaotic. so many people overreacted. we have such a lack of respect in band this year. as much as i hate hearing the words “calm down,” they really needed to. i wish our band directors would have stepped in a little earlier. that’s what they are there for.

despite all that though, at our competition on saturday, band won first place and music sweepstakes. we played our best show ever, and i think for the first time we all stood up as a band on the stands and cheered.
