wow.
i’m really slacking on posting. i’ve been so crammed with SAT stuff from Achieve. i’m starting to live there. it’s not all that bad though unless i get discouraged. plus, JenKo‘s taking SAT classes with me too. awesome. 🙂 and i can catch a glimpse of danny complaining about his calculator for the IIC test once in a while.
eagle ray swim-a-thon
in one hour i swam 157 laps. that’s 3925 yds.
i started off making it a personal goal that i wouldn’tgrab the wall for the entire swim-a-thon. i could slow down, but not stop. i was doing pretty well for the first half hour, but i seriously began to lose my mind. i cannot believe how boring swimming can get. especially since i didn’t keep track of when we started, so i had no idea how much time i had left the entire swim-a-thon.
so some time around 30 minutes into the swim-a-thon, i decided to stop to ask my mom. and as i try to ask her how much time we have left, my voice is covered by my two cousin’s madeline and steven, my housekeeper, and my grandma cheering me on in chinese. i found it so amusing, that i just continued swimming.
at one point, my sister streamlined straight into my face while i was trying to pass another girl. ouch. i think i said “thanks” after she did that. my brain wasn’t functioning right. probably from lack of oxygen or something.
after the swim-a-thon, they gave us lemonade. lemonade is so unbelievably good after swimming. ah.. so good. lemonade and watermelon are like the two best things after swimming.
mrs. trefry’s pool party
my flute teacher, mrs. trefry, held a pool party last saturday for all her students. it was actually kind of fun, fun in a hanging-out-at-your-grandparent’s-house type of way.
we splashed around in the pool for awhile, got cold and cooked ourselves in the hot tub. i played an intense game of this weird stick version of foosball with steph. mrs. trefry baked us delicious pizza, and mr. trefry taught us how to play some fun game that he used to play 30 + years ago at church. after a dessert of cheesecake and ice cream. (yum!) we went in to watch mr. trefry’s video of when his whittier high school band performed in the richard nixon’s inaugural parade. they were amazing. wow. nice history lesson for the day.
afterwards, i went over to mike pitluk’s house because danny called me to listen to them play the drums and guitar. thanks for the concert 🙂 then i finally got to see danny skateboard. they make skateboarding look so easy. i couldn’t even stand on the board without fearing that it was going to slip under me.
ashleigh’s asb beach party at oceanside
was a nice break from summer SAT studying.
i’ve come to the conclusion that train rides are simply better than any other mode of travel. the thrill of traveling between the train cars while rocking back and forth, the joy of playing mafia, b.s., and many other card games in the asiles, and the excitement of seeing the ocean along the ride are among a few of the reasons why train rides are superior. okay, so the food is super expensive, and the train ride isn’t exactly cheap. but so what? it’s totally worth it.
i spent the entire two days out at the beautiful beach and got so tan. haha. my legs were so sore afterwards. treading water is such a good workout. if i lived on the beach, i would so go out to the ocean every morning to workout with the waves.
we went through routines of beach, pool, hot tub, beach house, and then back to the beach, etc. lots of water. it was fun.
jessica, ben, brooke, and i took ghetto showers outside together. that was fun. as we got all apple shampoo-ified, people watched from their balconies. haha.
we played cards a lot. james had scary cards. each card had one of the the most wanted terrorists. and they all looked very creepy.
movies were playing 24/7. throughout the two days we watched sixteen candles, dumb and dumber, oceans 11, shrek, and my cousin vinny. i liked sixteen candles.
i saw a ruby’s on the pier there. it looked like fun, but we ran out of time. i want to go to a ruby’s on the pier one day. some day.
fun. sleep was limited, but it was all worth it. i love the beach. oceanside was fun.
HAPPINESS IS:

17. frog backpacks. and hanging out at target.
18. watching the fish at PETCO.
RAVE// i’m going to paint one side of my wall some awesome color like pink and leave the rest white.
RANT// ouch. my foot hurts. i think there’s something wrong with it. it’s been hurting on and off since school ended.
