chuck e. cheese
the place where a kid can be a kid.
saturday night i had to babysit my cousins, so i took my sister marisa, my two cousins madeline and steven, and danny to chuck e. cheese.
i remember i used to LOVE that place. everyone had their birthday party there in kindergarden and elementary school. it was either there or discovery zone.
it is so much nicer now though. there are a lot more games, and for the summer, all the games are only 1 token each. they have this awesome ticket muncher thing that accurately counts your tickets instead of the scale that they used to use, and the “show” place is a whole lot smaller because kids aren’t interested in watching chuck e. & friends sing anymore.
but despite being this new and improved chuck e. cheese, i find the kids there a lot more bratty and aggresive than before. i looked around and i saw kids whinning to their parents about getting more tokens, hogging machines for extensive amounts of time, and attempting to steal other kids tickets. it actually started to scare me after i was there for awhile. what’s wrong with these kids? my goodness. some of them were honestly brats. spoiled, selfish brats.
the prizes there are such a rip off. but i guess they are a good enough incentive for me to waste all the $60 my mom gave me on tokens and pizza. when i finally looked at the prizes, i couldn’t decide what to get, not because they were all so good, but because they were all so… cheap. i wonder if i noticed that when i was younger. probably not.
danny made mutated animals out of our 15 ticket animal puzzles. (we got six of them) maybe i’ll post pictures later. we got a bag of pink cotton candy too! i still love the cotton candy there. yum. pure sugar.
i could so work at chuck e. cheese. there or a smoothie store, an ice cream shop, or a candy store. oh! better yet, the disney store. 🙂 fun.
bonfire fun
there’s something about fire that brings people together. despite my immense fear of fire, i love bonfires. i love the warmth and how the fire is the single source of light. everytime i get home, i feel as if i’ve bonded with my everyone there.
last summer we had so many bonfires. we had a bonfire almost every weekend. now that i think back, i can characterize every summer by what my friends and i did.
the summer after freshman year, erich, zelle, steph, katie m., and I would go corona del mar all the time to boogie board, walk along the beach and eat at the Coco’s across the street. i remember how we would always have the same waiter (i can’t remember his name now) and how one time we wrote on the back of a gum wrapper “thank you :)” and we folded the tip nicely into the gum wrapper and ran outside so we could see his reaction from the window. he saw us and he waved at us. we laughed the whole way back to the beach. haha. memories.
the summer after sophomore year, as i said before, we had bonfires almost every weekend. this time it was more people. i’d say it was as many people as we could get ahold of. each bonfire was different, all i can remember is that erich always lit the fires, and that we’d always eat hotdogs. wow. good times.
this summer, we’ve been hot tubbing. mostly at shannon’s or meg’s. that’s fun too. it feels like you’re in a boiling pot with a bunch of your good friends. lots of bonding, attempting to dance in the water, and singing.
we had a bonfire last sunday. thanks shannon, barb, erich, zelle, megz, steph, katie, katie m., danny, jeff, and court. i had so much fun. 🙂 we have got to have more bonfires. danny, jeff, court, barb, and court, we won capture the flag. yay!
i <3 these girls too gina!
