vegas !!!

just as i expected… vegas was a blast 🙂 i have a ton of pictures that i’ll put up once i get a chance. seriously tho, megz and i went camera-crazy all weekend long. it was like any given pause in movement.. “Hey! picture time!” lol.

the bus ride there took forever. and i hate sitting for long periods of time doing nothing, so i started to get really jumpy and fidgety. i ate lunch/dinner at subway in barstow and then we started heading toward vegas while watching the movie drumline. suprisingly, i really like it. it was the perfect movie to watch before a band event. 🙂 the section leaders are so harsh to their section in the movie. -_- but seriously, we should get some tips from that movie. lol!

when we finally reached the hotel, everyone was super excited and everyone was yelling and running around. once my roommates, zelle, megz, steph, court,and barb, got to our room, we ran around making it as home-y as possible, decorating the room with stuffed animals and candy dishes. 😀 lol. we’re such girls. 😛

anywhos. then we went off to dinner at some mall in vegas. i was so hungry.. i ate two dinners. bad melo! and then some of us went into anchor blue. we walked in and started trying on all this stuff. megz and i found these trucker hats with stars on them that we decided to make our vegas souvineer. 🙂 i still love it. and then we started flashing “M’s” with our fingers, attempting to look all gangsta. haha. then erich and kunal dressed all pimp with funky hats, sunglasses, and chains. good times. 😀 it’s funny how anchor blue just sits there so innocently, yet unsuspectingly holds so much fun. 😛

after we return to our hotel, we go on an ice run and then sit around and talk forever. the next morning we split off into groups and head for the strip. brandon, scott, erich, sarno, ethan, megz, zelle, barb, anup, mayumi, and i cruise through the M&M factory and then head off to NY, New York. we ran through stores finding a toothbrush for ethan and then went up to the arcade and found the bumper cars calling our names. 🙂 they were so small and such a rip off, but omg. they were worth it. lol. and then scott and sarah had an intense game of air hockey. lol. it took forever and they had a rematch too.

the band competition itself was what we really went to vegas for, but by the time we started getting ready for it, i think everyone was really exhausted from running around on the strip. my bus broke down on the way there and everyone started freaking out. after much bus drama. we finally got to vegas high school. supposidly our performance was amazing, but i felt as if i ruined the show. i made two HUGE mistakes during the show, and i almost started crying after we finished. luckily, my friends were there to tell me that it was okay.

when waited in the stands for the results, i saw so many amazing bands and started to get nervous about whether we would even make it into finals. the awards started out by giving each band a rank based on the SCSBOA scaling of 1-5. esperanza recieved a 2, which left me kind of disapointed. but then at the very end, they started to read off which bands made it into finals, and i got really scared because after the last five bands were called out, i had already expected us to be called. finally they called out esperanza, ranked seventh and everyone just started screaming like crazy. lol.

the second show i was seriously a nervous wreck. i felt as if i ruined the first show for everyone, and when we were rehearsing, brandon came up to me and started laughing about my mistake, and everyone kept telling me that they heard i totally screwed up the show. T_T after that, i started getting really teary eyed and determined not to mess up the second show. robby, steph, court, andy, katie m. and others reassured me that i’d do okay. but even then i was super nervous. the second show was seriously my best show ever. 😀 but i guess not so for everyone. we ended up ranked eighth, better than two years ago.

i still think our show isn’t creative and it doesn’t have that “wow” that goes along with many of the other bands out there… especially fountain valley. … their show was like a broadway show. they totally deserved the sweepstake that they earned…. i just wish that next year… hopefully, we’ll have a better show. =

vegas was still amazingly fun. especially when the guys stole some of the girls’ luggage on the last day. and we ran around screaming, doing the congo, and making negotiations. … or when the guys whipped out the ice chunk that they named “tracy” and slid it accross the hallways. yup. those were good times. a weekend has never felt longer. a single weekend has never been so much fun.

veterans day

yesterday we had our first tuesday off ever. everyone was whining about it because it disconnected our weekend, but seriously… i’ll take any day off 🙂 monday night i watched matrix reloaded at scott’s with megz, zelle, erich, anup and sarno. and then tuesday i spent most of the day reading ap us and then watched brother bear with katie, katie m, and megz. the movie was cute, but it wasn’t as good as i thought it was going to be. 🙁 later on at night, i went over to nahal’s for an ap chem study session. i think i failed that test. and i’m bitter. lol. the stuff she put on the “unit objectives” sheet weren’t helpful for the test at all. plus it took us half of the time decoding what she wanted from the paper. she didn’t put on half the stuff on the “unit objective” sheet on the test.. gr.. and i seriously.. failed. -_- yup. still bitter.

i’m … scared!!!

ahhh. the weather’s been so random today. it was showering in the morning, freezing after 1st period, then the sun kind of came out at lunch, and then after 5th period, the sky started leaking again. and then… it began pouring. and then… i failed my chem test. -_- but anyway, off topic. i hate thunder and lightning. it creeps me out! :O i used to be scared of so many things.. i think i’ve gotten over most of them tho. but still, it’s funny to think back at what i was afraid of..

ok. you know wat? apparently, i’m still afraid of more than half of these things. o.O hmm. i need being brave lessons. 😛

target

i paid target a visit today. that store is always fun to browse around in. i almost bought finding nemo on DVD today because when i saw all the finding nemo dvds, there was a sign next to them that said that they were on sale for $12.99, which got me really excited. but when i went to the cash register to pay, it rang up as $19.99, and i was like wat?! it’s supposed to cost $12.99. (i really hate getting ripped off…) anyway. the lady was like o.. and she was about to change it when the lady at the cash register behind her said nope, they’re not on sale anymore so now i’m confused. why would they have a sale sign next to an item.. if it isn’t on sale anymore? roar. that’s just mean and tricky. so i didn’t buy it. i think i’m going to go to costco. hah! take that. 😛 jk.
