chem incidents
i have serious issues in mr. karns’s awesome chem class. lol.. here are my stories 🙂
.:part one
we’re doing one of our many amazing chem labs and my partner, kyle, wasn’t there so i was really outta it.. i never really know wat i’m doing in chem xP. anyway.. so i open this little plastic container to poor vinegar into my graduated cylinder and it spills EVERYWHERE and i realize *o! it doesn’t have one of those droplet things that poor the liquid in drop by drop* man i’m such a tard. so i grab a paper towel to wipe all the vinegar off the table and by doing so i knock over the graduated cylinder. I immediately think.. *whew! ..didn’t break* and then it continues to roll slowly.. and then it suddenly falls over the edge of the table and smashes into litto tiny pieces of glass.. and vinegar is yet again.. EVERYWHERE. go me.. i smelled like vinegar ::blah:: and i was like scared to death (i still am) of glass for the rest of the lab. Mr. Karns was awesome about it tho… he was like *ok grab the broom*.. i thought he was like gonna lecture me about being careful and stuff.. but i think i already looked scared enough… GAH!! glass! :O
.:part two
again, kyle, my lab partner wasn’t here… so i’m like *la di da… * and i fill this beaker with base (we’re doing an acid base lab) and then i walk back to my table and this guy backs out of his chair… and i trip over the chair and base spills all over my hand. i’m like *o!.. no worries.. * and i walk over to the sink and mr. karns goes *wat did you spill on urself?* and i say *base* and he acts like i burned my hand off and tells me to run water over my hand.. after like seriously five minutes of my hand being washed by water… my hand’s frozen and about five or six people from my class have said to me: *OMG! wat happened? are you okay? does it burn?* and the sad part is.. i didn’t even feel any burning.. or pain.. or ANYTHING.. i just wanted to wash my hand off becuase of the base on it. and yeah… goodness .. i didn’t know base was so dangerous! and then scott freaks me out by going *that’s probably gonna burn in the pool* .. hmm.. yeah thanx.. scare melo.. good idea! xP anyway.. if base is so dangerous.. why don’t we wear gloves when we do that lab? and.. why do people only talk about the dangers of acids.. and not bases? hmm?
anyway.. that concludes my chem incidents.. i’m such a klutz and i obviously need my lab partner because things juss don’t go right without him. lol..
